There's already a site that's a build repository:
http://www.gwkb.org/cBuild.php

I don't claim that it's a good site or a well designed site or even a site with a good, intuitive interface (no offence to the owner: I offered advice on how to improve it, and he did a poor job at it). It just exists.

I'm working on my own version that doesn't suck... but working full time seriously cuts down on the time I have to spend on it. I have it at about 25% complete, but if you're interested drop me a pm/email and I can set you up an account manually (account management/registration barely exists).

Don’t claim to be great at something if you aren’t. And to counter your “where is your site”. My company site is www.structured-systems.net and a flashy example of my work can be found at http://71.0.254.158/ username:dev_viewer password:view

Alas, the company didn't pay their bill and had to be shutdown.
i did not just modify some code
and what else am i gonna say "i suck at web design but still pay me" ???? i know i don't suck.

and btw, ur site is nothing to be proud of. it's pretty much just made up on inner shadows, bevels, and gradients on their default settings. not to mention it doesn't seem to work properly in Firefox.

Wow i hope you get cancer. I am a member of another forum called vgamin and ive seen axle sell many designs and websites for well over $400. I actually met him through buying a website with pre-loaded content, design and forum that i was going to pay $500 for because it was already set up and i could run it easily and overall it was a great website. He insisted on charging me half that price even when the other c/o was $650.... I hate you oh so much....

EDIT: SH1t! even my designs arent that bad man... Ever considered eatin sionide?

Hmm...

Okay, it seems whoever owns this site hasn't been advertising enough. Because I never seen it or heard of it before, but this is the type of stuff I was looking for.

Purchasing a $500 website as a student on a garbageman's budget at the age of 15? o_O
And Axle mentioned being 15 earlier in the thread...
The accounts were created within 4 days of each other, and only one is particularly descriptive.

Whether you're genuinely different people, or merely alternate accounts, I don't care. Flaming is flaming, and has no place on these forums. If you have a personal beef with someone else, take it to PM's.

And of course, this applies to all involved parties, but prior to a recent post, I didn't hear of anyone wishing death upon another person.

Really? Top guilds don't educate the public? That's news to me.

I have yet to see that. Most of time they are whining on WoC about "It's anet's FAULT" yet if you ask them to join, they will shun you. Or once you do join a guild, they tell you your skillbar from 1-8, because they don't really trust you to make a "proper" fire ele (hint: Mine doesn't arcane echo).

I've been there, got rather sick of it.

OK. How does that apply to educating the public? Because I've seen iQ, Te, KF, IVEX, sB in their heyday, all try to inform new players as best as possible. Telling them what strategies work best in GVG/Tombs, what skills are worthless in PVP, how counters work, the best spike damage over all classes, when to kite and when not, etc.

I've also seen the community that is supposed to soak up this knowledge rebel and try to argue half-assed "facts" with these top guilds.

The fact of the matter is the top guilds will speak if we could listen.

Since when?

And I'm not talking about some isolated forums that no one goes to like Guild-hall.net

No one goes to Guild Hall? Are you retarded? GH is first in the list of fansites and is also listed as elite. That means new players are going to visit them first above all other fansites. Then they're going to go to Guru or GWOnline. A lot of top guilds still go to GH and continue to post information.

There were plenty of people that would come to Guru that would give advice. iQ especially but you can find other top guilds that came here and also offered valuable knowledge.

No one listens anymore and that's where the absence of information comes in.

Bull.

When I first got into GW, I didn't go to some fansite for info. People don't usually go to fansites for games unless they want to read opinions or the ongoings in the game. Otherwise, they wouldn't buy the game and go "hey, the first thing I'm going to do is check out some third party forum and see these builds."

It's kind of like the strategy builds in Diablo 2. Sure, you can tell me what to do step-by-step, but I won't understand the how or why it works.

besides, from what I'm looking at, the top guilds just complain, complain, and complain. I have yet to gather any decent information from them. They talk high and mighty like they were some amazing driving force behind the community. Did they start their own sites? Articles? Maybe instead of telling off Gaile Grey and some shit on how she should be fired, these top guilds should try WORKING with her. All I see from the so-called major players of GW is mudslinging.

If I had any serious clout, I would write articles for the official guild wars site instructing newcomers to the game about the PvP mechanics, like the common strategies in tombs, the structure of a GvG team, and how to make a sick arena build.

It would be a lot more useful then crybaby whining. No, I'm not defending Gaile Grey, but yelling "She should be FIRED!!!elevenone1" isn't going to help anyone, especially GW or Anet.

technically, no. A contract between two parties when one is a minor is considered voidable by the courts. Not void, mind you but voidable.

So a minor can enter into a contract, but the other party has no recourse if the minor renegs on the deal.

I might be a little off on some of the details, I'm going back a good sixteen years to business laws classes in college. But I'm pretty sure the above is correct.

But this is all semantics really. We are arguing minor points, no pun intended.

Would it not depend on what country you're in? As far as I konw, you can legally work at 15 or even 14 in some countries. (hehe, you can get your liscence and a car with 15 in NZ, so why not work as well?) But.. I haven't bothered to check where the poster is from.

I didn't see this before, and I am taking offence to it. I wasn't being a dick, I was merely stating that i charge, you didn't say you were looking for free workers.

Could you point out the top guilds posting their gvg build information on GH?

If there are some, I don't understand why they do it. Not a good strategy imo.

laws do depend from country to country but this isn't about labor, it's about contract law. He isn't working for someone, he is more like an independant contractor.

I guess you aren't too happy about the upcoming observation mode then?

Guilds who refuse to post their builds are pussies.
